Fitness/Health
This is an 18-week course that 7th/8th graders will take before they leave the middle school. This is a required class. The student will be in fitness for nine weeks and health education for nine weeks. Fitness consists of working on the cardiovascular system and being physically active daily. The student will have a weekly assessment of a student's cardiovascular stretch and may also have different assignments to complete in class that relate to being physically active. In addition, the student will also apply different aspects of a team and individual sports with fitness. Then, a student will we into the classroom for the health portion of the course. There, the student will learn about nutrition, drug prevention, bully prevention, and reproductive health. Each student will show their knowledge of each unit through group work, quizzes, essays, and worksheets.
