Assistance in Student and Family Referrals.

Serve as Agency/School Liaison.

6th Grade Orientation and Identification. 

Plan, Implement and Evaluate Other Guidance Activities.

 

 

WHAT DO COUNSELORS DO?

  • Listen to me.
  • Help me with my problems and concerns.
  • Help me communicate with my parents and teachers.
  • Help me with my academic concerns.

HOW DO I GET TO SEE A COUNSELOR?

  • I may ask for an appointment (or sign up in office).
  • The counselor may invite me.
  • My teacher or principal can send me.
  • Parents can ask that I go.
  • A school friend may refer me.

HOW WILL THE COUNSELOR HELP?

The counselor will help the student:

  • identify the problem.
  • explore possible ways to solve the problem.
  • assess the best way to solve the problem and make a plan.
  • work toward the solution of the problem, resolve the problem or learn to cope with the situation.
